Millions of people in North America carry criminal convictions that restrict their abilities to get work, travel and help their communities as volunteers. What they don’t know is that many qualify to have their records cleared for infractions big and small. You or someone you know may be one of them. Legal journalist Christopher Guly provides in this book a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to gain a criminal pardon in the United States and Canada. Obtaining a Criminal Pardon looks at the history of pardons, the reasons for them, and the process to apply for and receive them. Obtaining A Criminal Pardon helps people clear their records so they can resume their lives and rebuild their reputations. It is a definitive resource for those who have paid the price for their crime and do not want the stigma that a conviction carries.
